APPLE CIDER VINEGAR PRE SHAMPOO RINSE

I purchased the book The Knotty Truth by M. Michelle George which is packed full awesome information for anyone wanting to learn more about ALL types of locks. I liked that there was several natural recipes in the book so my first recipe was the ACV Pre & Post Shampoo Rinse. I'm not sure why it's called pre & post because the way the directions went you do the rinse before you shampoo.

This is a rinse that will remove soap scum mineral deposits and product buildup from the locks, while sealing the cuticle, leaving the hair shiny! The ACV rinse closes the cuticle because of it's low, acidic PH. This will remove soap scum and help to neutalize the hair to its preferred PH range. The vinegar will also help to control dandruff and oily hair while adding shine, softness and bounce to the hair.

Now I have seen people mix up a apple cider rinse in the sink and dip their heads in the sink filled with ACV...umm can we say messy.

So this is what I did after reading Knotty Truth.

Mix together in a 8oz spritz bottle

- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (15 drops) ph 2-3
- 1 pint of water PH 4-6 (will balance the vinegar & lemon)
1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar

Spray mixture into the hair , massage and let it sit for 3 - 5 minutes. Rinse out with warm water. Shampoo the hair , and follow up with a conditioner.

I really like how my hair felt and it really did feel much cleaner than just shampooing. I will do the ACV rinse may be once a month to keep my locks clean from product buildup.

Check out the updo I rocked for Easter weekend!
